"Physical Culture", Nat Walker’s first solo EP since Chromatics disbanded, is drenched in the hazy serenity of vaporwave, ambient electronic, and lo-fi hip-hop rinsed through the intricate artistry of synth-laden film score cues. The album is inherently cinematic, unfurling like eight tempered but melodic themes for a small-scale late-night movie. The mood straddles the line between isolated contemplation and resting with a purpose.

"Physical Culture" takes you to one of those late night half-asleep hallucinations sometime in the ‘90s, into a dark room illuminated only by the flickering blue light of late-night infomercials. The music emanating from the speakers is a blurred warble of serene themes that twist and bend with a propulsive, serpentine embrace. Swung, laid-back beats carry fuzzy synths across ambient atmospheres and catchy, melodic turns.
